Hello Everyone!
I’m doing great and wanted to share how well things are going in my foster home! After being picked up from the shelter and driven back to Bonduel, I laid down calmly the whole way—no fuss at all. When I arrived and met the other dogs, the introductions went really well. I didn’t feel aggressive, just curious. I ate my food without any issues and didn’t mind when the humans came near. When their mix came over to check me out, I was cautious but didn’t overreact. I did growl and lift a paw when their doodle got a little too close, but that was it. I even left some food in my bowl and walked away, and when they put their dogs’ food down, I didn’t go anywhere near it.
I’ve been learning the house rules pretty quickly, though I did try to sneak a few things off the counter and table, and I attempted to crawl up on the furniture. I’m getting the hang of “no” fast! They gave me a bath, and I did amazingly well—I’m actually pretty chill about it all. One thing I’m not a fan of is the kennel. I was whining and aggressively chewing at it, so they let me sleep with them and their two dogs, and I was perfect all night long. They’re planning to work with me by putting me in the kennel for a few minutes at a time so I can get used to it and realize that it’s not so bad.
This morning, we went for a couple of walks, and I walked really nicely on the leash. I only pulled a little at the start but took correction well. I’ve even started playing with their two dogs, so things are looking up!
